Prior to founding Copernic, Jacob built experience at the intersection of chemistry, industrial strategy, and venture investment. He previously served as an Investment Manager for BASF Venture Capital, where he led the Boston office and worked on investments related to current and future BASF businesses. He has spent nearly two decades working across chemistry and entrepreneurship in roles at Copernic, BASF and Lux Research. Jacob received his Ph.D. in physics from Cornell University.

Aruna brings over a decade of experience in chemical engineering R&D and strategy to Copernic's technical leadership. She has held technical leadership positions at Linde and ExxonMobil and has worked on industrial process and materials technologies relevant to large-scale deployment. She has authored fifteen patents and brings deep expertise in catalyst and process development. She holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Bombay and a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
